A number of biodiesel producers are looking for testing in 2009.

- Sulfur (ppm) in Diesel or Kerosene (ULSD, ULSK or LSD)
- Flash Point – The lowest temperature at which a petroleum product will burn Water and Sediment – Volume of free water and sediment in fuel
- Free and Total Glycerin – Free and bonded glycerin content

- Cloud Point – The temperature at which the first wax crystals appear
- Cold Filter Plugging Point – Low Temp Flow Test
- Pour Point – Lowest temperature at which an oil will pour or flow under certain prescribed conditions
- Acid Number – This property is often used to indicate the extent of contamination or oxidation of used oils
- Sulfated Ash – Used as a measure of the amount of metallo-organic additives present in new oils. In used oils, the determination may be affected by the presence of incombustible contaminants such as lead alkyls, dust and wear metals.
